GEMFIELDS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO BE THE CHIEF GUEST AT JJS

Jaipur, 14 December: The Executive Director of London-based Gemfields Plc, Sean Gilbertson will be the Chief Guest for the 10th Jaipur Jewellery Show. He will inaugurate the popularly known December Show on 22at Hotel Rajmahal Palace, informed the Convener of JJS Mr. Vimal Chand Surana. Mr. Surana further added that Vice Chairman of the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Mr. Pankaj Parekh will be the Guest of Honour on this occasion.

 

It has long been the tradition of JJS to have eminent personas from the Gems and Jewellery trade as their chief guest. In the past few years well known people from the jewellery trade have been the chief guest like Ms. Varda Shine, Managing Director of Diamond Trading Company International (DTC), (2009); Mr. Vasant Mehta, Chairman of GJEPC (2008); Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, President, CIBJO (2007); Ms. Donna Baker, Acting President of Gemmological Institute of America (GIA), (2006) Mr. Smuel Schnitzer, President of World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), (2005), among others.

 

Secretary of JJS, Mr. Rajiv Jain said that this being the 10th year of this leading jewellery exposition, it is fitting to have Mr. Gilbertson of Gemfields, one of the world’s foremost coloured gemstone producers as the chief guest. Gemfields mines, processes and markets rough gemstones internationally. Its prime focus is on Zambian emeralds and amethyst. His inputs will benefit the Gems and Jewellery trade, he added.

 

The media Spokesperson, Mr. Ajay Kala said that there is widespread enthusiasm among the prospective customers and stall owners for the JJS that will begin on 22 December.

DIAMOND JEWELLERY WILL BE THE JJS THEME

Jaipur, 09 December: The theme for the 10th edition of Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) 2012 is ‘Diamond Jewellery – Jaipur Adds Colour to It’.  Preparations for this B2B and B2C show at Hotel Raj Mahal Palace from 22 to 25 December are in full swing. The theme reflects the favourable trends towards diamonds and diamond jewellery.

The Show Convener, Mr. Vimal Chand Surana informed that every two years JJS has a new theme which reflects the prowess of Jaipur in that particular area. Which is why in the past ten years the themes have been related to emerald, tanzanite and Kundan Meena. Making the show theme-based enables the product to get publicity mileage in India and abroad.

According to the JJS Secretary, Mr. Rajiv Jain, the selection of theme highlights the speciality of Jaipur and provides a platform for national and international marketing. He further said that Jaipur’s contribution has been immense in promoting diamond jewellery. He further added that with diamond as the theme the buyers of Jaipur’s diamond jewellery are able to purchase the products at a reasonable rate.

The Media Coordinator of JJS, Mr. Ajay Kala said that even in the past editions of JJS diamond jewellery has showed its popularity. Jaipur’s manu-cutting in white and yellow gold has been appreciated. He further added that the JJS’s Diamond Promotion Group, which is promoting the product at national level has also organized a diamond festival from 3 to 17 December. This festival is getting great appreciation from buyers and customers of diamond jewellery.

Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) this year participated in the third edition of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) in August at the Mumbai-based Hotel Grand Hyatt. The members of the Promotion Group presented a fabulous array of diamond jewellery studded with colored gem stones. The actress Ms. Simran Kaur Mundi, Brand Ambassador of JJS was the show stopper.
